I guess when ND's current TV contract is over and under renegotiation that is when the most pressure can be brought to bear. I still see ND as an unwilling player in getting their football program in a conference. Everything but FB is in the Big East, that would be the most likely place. What would bring them to join?

I'm not sure, other than the threat from the BCS that they will not reserve a place for ND when they play well. I think that is a likely scenario given the lack of success on the field for ND for the last 10 years. But like you said, they are more likely to affiliate themselves with the Big East when that time comes (if the Big East is still viable at that time).
