Okay, Alex, that was a clear and logical post. I think what I am getting from it is you are saying that evolution is clear and clean and makes sense, but that although it holds together as a theory, we cannot therefore ALSO conclude that a powerful God did not start and shape the universe.

I said initially that a belief in evolution did not mean there was no God. I think most people would agree, yes? Then why do some Christians take their children out of public schools because evolution is being taught as science?

You said evolution is the simplest story that fits all the facts. In the search for truth, is that not what we are almost always looking for?

But I believe some Creationists are opposed to evolution being taught as fact, and insist that creation theory be given equal weight as what actually happened. Knowing everything we do, are we unsure enough about evolution that most reasonable people would agree to this?

It is all very confusing if the goal is to get belief systems--religious AND "naturalistic metaphysical worldviews" out of the public schools in America.

Do you think the evidence in favor of evolution is strong enough that it should be taught as science?
