Thanks, excellent article. Demographics are the foundation of economics, and economics is the foundation of politics.

From the 1600s through the 1800s, the center of military power in Europe shifted eastward, from France to Germany to Russia, following the demographic center. As soon as the Chinese and Indians get sufficiently educated and productive, they will be the world's superpowers, with Europe and N. America and Japan the periphery.
