Ok That was, like, a joke I don't really, like, talk like that.
But seriously, kids are the most wonderful thing in the world. Even other people's kids are wonderful, imo, which is why I teach. Children are possibility, and hope, and within them lies the future of our race, and much of the future for our entire planet will rest upon their shoulders- and let us hope their shoulders lift up that burden better than ours have done. What could be more special than children? If you are thinking about having children, make sure you have time for them. I think that is the one thing that is essential. The worst thing I can imagine is looking back on my life and thinking, "I could have spent that time with my children, but I didn't." If you have them, make them the center of your life, with gladness. I've given up a career, and found a new career, all because of my children- and I'd do that again. I love teaching, but if it interfered with my kids, I'd give it up in a second (with some regret, yes, but with no second thoughts.)
Time, you have to be willing to put in the time. don't let the "quality time" folks fool you. Quality matters, but when they are little, quantity matters as well. |
