KC, I prefer American, but use English [usually]. Microsoft is going to ensure everyone uses American - software spell cheks and ubiquity of use will ensure that.

English is good because it just hijacks any handy words, such as sushi, restaurant, cafe, glasnost, mana, raupo and a vast range of other words. It gobbles up cultures voraciously too.

That's because it's intended to be universal, stemming from the Christian universality, all-in-together philosophical foundations, which are quite different from the grab it for yourself, family and tribe cultures more normal around the world.

That's my theory for now,
