Marchex is a privately held company founded in January of 2003. Two of Marchex’s founders, Russell C. Horowitz and John Keister, founded Go2Net (NASDAQ: GNET) in 1996. They grew Go2Net from a two-person startup into a highly-profitable, publicly-traded Internet company with more than 500 employees and business units throughout the United States. Horowitz’s business methodologies and consolidation strategies are recognized as a model in the technology and Internet industries. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of National Discount Brokers (NYSE: NDB), which was acquired by Deutsche Bank in 2000, as a member of the Board of Advisors of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School, as a member of the Governor's Advisory Council on the Internet and Technology for the State of Washington, and is a Henry Crown Fellow of The Aspen Institute. Mr. Horowitz received a B.A. in Economics from Columbia College of Columbia University.
