I'm a Democrat and I sympathize with some of Howard Dean's positions. But, I think Howard Dean is way too liberal for mainstream America. Kerry was liberal enough, but Dean is a true northeastern liberal. Howard Dean will have trouble winning any states outside the liberal northeast. Howard Dean would be the dream candidate for Bush to run against. He'd paint him as a liberal northesterner and that would be it.

The Democrats best hope if they want to win in 2004 is to nominate John Edwards, a smart, good looking, moderate-liberal Soutern Democrat who can win some of those swing states in the South and Midwest.
