I watched the English language version of CCTV newscast today. No mention of any demonstration, but did have a report on some relatively junior person in an inexpensive suit saying the new anti-subversion law is compatible with Hong Kong's Basic law. Prior to that, a longer story about ceremony marking July celebration of Hong Kong re-joining mainland China, with lots of pictures of new president and Tung and other dignitaries. Maybe someone wants an easy out if they get pushed to change their mind...
