It is time to ramp back all this military madness. America is going bonkers. The rest of the world knows this. Why don't Americans? Believe me when I say that that's exactly what most of us "up here" are saying. Recent U.S. policies demonstrate a growing level of isolationism. Soon, we Canajuns will feel like we're sitting on the doorstep of the new Republic of Chi-merica. It's all becoming rather weird. In the "old days" the peace of countries was maintained through the use of ambassadors and diplomacy, and before that, through arranged marriages between ruling families, or through a system of highly organized hostage-keeping. Now we resort to bombs launched from space. Such state-of-the-art progress..... not! What next? Annihilation of the population of the rest of the world before "we" can be a nuisance or use up too many of the resources which "you" will need to continue on your present course of Manifest Destiny? Unfortunately, it doesn't take too much imagination to see that scenario coming down the pipes in the not-so-distant future. croc
