The major problem is that neither as a candidate, nor even today, does Busch fully recognize, acknowledge, nor attempt to bring any real leadership to bear on the issue

Another school of thought is that there is little that the president, regardless of party, could do to change the inevitable course of economy.

Maybe he does recognize that we are in an economic crisis, but also recognizes that any intervention in the natural process of the bear market will only extend the economic crisis.
