Clinton was eviscerated (and still is) for an essentially private matter- I think a much higher level of evisceration is warranted when the machinery of the state are used in such a huge way, and possibly against international law, and in a way our own people would not approve of, had they had the facts. Contempt is warranted when one is lied to about a matter that concerns one. I never felt Clinton's sex life really concerned me (although I certainly don't approve of old men predating on young women- yet, I think no law and no degree of scorn will stop that- it appears to be the way of the world).

The criticism of Clinton was more than relentless and still is, and yet the matter at hand in the Clinton administration was of much less international and domestic import that the one at issue now- unless you think sexual fraternization with a female is on a par with leading the greatest country in the world in to war, against the UN's approval, for less than compelling reasons (or possibly, by using a pretext of lies)- if you think that, well...
