ROUND ROCK, Texas, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Dell Computer
Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL), the world's leading direct marketer of
computer systems, today announced two new models in its Dell(R)
Latitude(R) LM and Dell Latitude XPi CD notebook PC lines powered by
Intel's 133 Megahertz (MHz) Pentium(R) processor with MMX(R)
technology. Dell also announced it will offer 5.0 gigabyte (GB) hard
drives on its Dell Latitude XPi CD notebook PC line, the largest hard
drive available in the notebook PC industry today.



DELL LATITUDE LM NOTEBOOK PC LINE

Available immediately, the Dell Latitude LM M133ST is priced at
$2,699 in the U.S. and Canada for a system configured with a 133MHz
Pentium processor with MMX technology, 16 megabytes (MB) of EDO memory,
a 1.6 GB hard drive, a 12X* CD-ROM drive, a 12.1-inch SVGA (super video
graphics array) active-matrix display, a long-life smart lithium-ion
battery, Microsoft Office 97 Small Business Edition and a one-year
warranty.

Dell Latitude LM customers can increase their hard drive capacity to
4.0GB which provides 90 percent more storage space than previously
available on this product. This new hard drive option is expected to
ship later this month.

The award-winning Dell Latitude LM notebook PC line is ideal for mobile
professionals who travel frequently or work at a customer site, field
office or home. These remote users require high-performance features
and extensive multimedia capabilities in a portable package.

custom build every mobile solution, our customers have the convenience
of selecting just how they want it configured to meet the demands of

DELL LATITUDE XPi CD NOTEBOOK PC LINE

Also available immediately, the new Dell Latitude XPi CD M133ST is
priced at $3,199 in the U.S. and Canada for a system configured with a
133MHz Pentium processor with MMX technology, 16 megabytes (MB) of
memory, 1.6 GB hard drive, a 12X(A) CD-ROM drive, 12.1-inch SVGA (super
video graphics array) active- matrix display, a long-life smart
lithium-ion battery and a three-year warranty.

Dell also announced today a $200 price reduction on the Dell Latitude
XPi CD M166ST notebook PC, now priced at $3,599 in the U.S. and Canada,
with a 166MHz Pentium processor with MMX technology and the above
configuration.

Dell Latitude XPi CD customers can select hard drive capacities up to
5.0GB, which delivers more than 60 percent more storage space than
previously available on this product, and allows them to run 32-bit
applications and support Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Workstation 4.0
operating system. The 5.0GB hard drive option is expected to begin
shipping later this month.

To further Dell's commitment of delivering managed notebook PCs that
support industry-standard system management features, the Dell
Inspector, Dell's Desktop Management Interface (DMI) 2.0 application,
is factory installed on all Dell Latitude XPi CD notebook PCs equipped
with Microsoft Windows 95 or NT operating systems. The Dell Inspector
helps customers lower their product lifecycle costs by allowing them to
manage their notebook PCs in complex, networked environments.

Customers can take advantage of industry-standard remote management
capabilities with this latest version of DMI. For example, when a Dell
Latitude XPi CD notebook PC is connected to the network, an MIS manager
can easily track its key system features such as processor speed and
memory as well as modify the system's power management settings from
their office.

The Dell Latitude XPi CD notebook PC line is designed for corporate,
government and education customers who require reliability, stability
and superior battery life for complex networked environments. This
product line provides lower cost of ownership, outstanding network
