"If Clinton had been removed from office and jailed, then maybe, just maybe, Bush wouldn't have played so fast and loose with the truth about Iraq WMD. "

I doubt this most strongly. Bush, like the people who support him, would fail to see any parallel in his behavior and Clinton's- no matter what the outcome of that case had been. While I agree with you that no man is above the law, I see a huge difference in civil suits against the sitting president carried out for political reasons (which should not be prosecuted until after his term) and actions arising directly from his duties as president- which must be attended to immediately.

Of course, if the case had been delayed until after Clinton's presidency was over, I doubt anyone would have cared very much to spend the money to see it through. It was a political travesty- and I wouldn't want to see that sort of thing happen again to a republican or a democrat. Civil suits should never be allowed to disrupt our country like that, nor cost our taxpayers so much, for so little result. IMO, of course.
