If I had the power to pass one law, it would be a simple requirement that every legislator, before they were allowed to vote on any will, had to sign an affidavit that they had personally read the bill in its entirety and understood every provision of it. The affidavit would be signed under penalty of perjury and under a requirement that if the affidavit was false they would immeditately lose their elected position and be ineligible to run for or accept any legislative post or government job for the rest of their lives.
