We are also an economy that is having a slow recovery from that short and shallow recession and that's further evidenced in today's unemployment report," he said.

Is it any wonder that things are such a mess. Earth to George. We are not an economy and rising jobless claims and unemployment rates are not signs of recovery and this recession has been neither short nor shallow by historical standards.
