Sounds like they think they've got a reasonable chance at getting somewhere eventually ... hard to say about 'soon', i dunno, what do you mean by that -g-
I really don't know, just going on public information, haven't spoken to the company for a long time, it never did any good anyway, there simply wasn't any more to tell than was already out in public ..... but Chilcott and Sandner are sticking with the project, and they just convinced somebody else of its merits to the tune of usd60k .... seems to me like they've got a chance, and i expect that any ultimate project-breaker will not be venezolana politics, but environmental concerns ..... hoovering up a whole riverbed is the sort of thing that can attract attention ... at the same time, it is a project of years and they'll only be taking it bit by bit, also they'll be removing all that old mercury ... also generating a whole lot of jobs, probably improving navigation as well [although i've never heard that cited as advantage]
Their JV with Seabulk is meaningful, imho, because these are heavies in the aggregate business ... i dunno, all in all i think there's good chance that this proceeds .... but 'soon', that's asking a lot in the mining business ... they could get enough of a tentative concession from MEM to do the full feasibility, though, that could happen this year .... ?? ... we shall see |
