No, Chile asked for only 3 more weeks and would have gone along with a 2nd resolution. A little patience and diplomacy saves lives, money and keeps the world together. As it is now, we're going it pretty much alone. And the UK wont be along on the next escapade. Bushies have a lot of apologizing to do to UN nations after calling them "irrelevant" and rolling over them. It doesn't heklp that much of the evidence they presented on WMD's was either inaccurate or fraudulent. UN peacekeepers do work. It's their job. US troops are not trained for this kind of nation-building, and cannot be neutral parties in disputes either. They dont even speak the language and get grumpy, angry and frustrated in the blazing heat and dangerous mess of it all. Not a pretty picture. Piss poor planning at the heart of the problem.
