I got a newspaper clipping from Don Shorling former poster of SI board. Its from Oakland Tech News and Macomb Auto Scene. I haven't got a date buts seems very current. Debate Over Leakage,Ozone Depletion. EXpert Responds to Hydrogen Study By Gabrielle Gamache Oakland Tech News.
In response to that study, Stan Ovshinsky , president and CEO of Energy Conversion Devices, a Rochester Hills company that develops hydrogen based fuel cells for vehicles, said that fossil fuels are more harmful to the environment over the long run and that hydrogen leaks wouldn't be a worry if it were transported as a solid. "If you are going to use fuel cells you are going to need storage," Ovshinsky said "Gaseous hydrogen under high pressure does leak,as does liquid hydrogen. But solid hydrogen doesn't leak at all. With us leakage is never an issue."

But Ovshinsky said that fossil fuels can also cause climate changes. Our position is to get it (the Hydrogen economy) started. Ovshinsky, who has been working on channeling energy through hydrogen since 1960,added that chemically bonded hydrogen, such as the hydrides and similar technologies produced by ECD,dosen't leak. "You can let the data speak for itself," he said.
"With chemically bonded hydrogen , you don't get leakage. You only release it when you want to. we have cylinders for use such as in gas stations. It ships safely, by ordinary truck, train or boat, and it's safer than gasoline by far. You get a much better benefit."

Much of this was known by most investors in ECD but Stan made ECD s point of view ,clear to public in this fine article. I received this in the mail Thursday July 3,2003.
