Jay, I doubt that more than a tiny minority had read much at all. I suspect they just like to walk where they want, where they want, without some bureaucrat bossy-britches in Beijing telling them whether it's left step next, or right.

They liked the British rule, which brought properity beyond 90% of humanity's experience. The stultifying bully-boys of Beijing are obviously not the harbingers of happiness [on track record if nothing else]. Since they took over, it's been all downhill.
