I'm beginning to think that it could be soon. And I bet I know the catalyst: Ann Coulter. It's one thing to be told over and over that liberals are wrong, that Clinton was a terrible disgrace, that we need a warpath President now. I think the thing that will push liberals (and left moderates) over the edge to take action is being slandered by Ms Coulter. It's one thing to disagree. It's another entirely to accuse loyal Americans of phantom treason without proof or even the guts to name names. This kind of filth hasn't been seen since...well, Joe McCarthy, as a matter of fact. If Bush were to come out and denounce Coulter and her ilk, I think he could defuse the situation and reassure his election. He won't, because he doesn't want to piss off the hand that feeds. It will be interesting...
