To remove some of the fog....
The reason for insistance of Saddams removal goes back to 911, and the airplane that did not make it to the Capital.
It is to be expected that the President is a target for discontents, with so many assasinations here in the past.
But Congressmen themselves had not been so seriously hunted, considering themselves more as the good guys and less of a target.
But on 911 it became obvious they were also included in target zero by the bad guys and OBL's fate was decided on that date with no significant objections by other nations. Hello, Afghanistan.Goodbye Taliban
An who was next on the list of bad guys but Saddam, who had targeted GB senior and his family. so there was complete understanding on the part of Congressmen as to why GWB would want him eliminated.with plenty of reasons to do so and a selling point that he was in violation of the treaty and in violation of all the UN Resolutions.
It was Saddams fate that things all came together at one time.
And after two outstandingly successful campaigns and a historic military victory we arrive at todays point and things are moving in the proper direction in Iraq but not as swiftly as hoped, although it was not possible and still is not, to have a schedule and cost structure for building a new government/country despite the pleas of the Press
and others who demand schedules for unknown events and impossible capabilities of our troops to police an entire
country and make friends while doing it.
