I just watched the "Frontline" hour on PBS this week, entitled, "Public Schools Inc." It was really more a Bio of Chris Whittle, the charismatic founder of Edison Schools. The guy is one hell of a promoter. You will find it online at pbs.org He has basically failed. Stock has dropped from a high of $35 to 14 cents. The key is, even when he was successful, the Union would get a School Board in that cancels his contracts. These type of shows always convince me that the schools will not be changed to the better as long as the Teachers Unions have the veto power. But the Frontline program is worth seeing, IMO, if it reruns in your area.
