Comments to Vi and W Hueb. Is there a way to correlate the waves with some fundamentals (some specific economic factors)? For example, impact of tax cuts will not be known for another 3 to 4 months. That is, whether there is a buying surge of consumer goods (and what type - cars, pc's, furnitures, etc) and also how much and what type of jobs created. Maybe they go to stock mutual funds. So, the impact will not be in the statistics until September - October period. In addition, most of the capital gain selling will take place in the first quarter of 2004, for the one year holding period. Plus there may not be much tax loss selling this November - December, if market stays steady.
