You forget WHY Prop 13 was passed. Rapacious politicians and assessors had found a way around the voter's will to raise taxes and were on a rampage.

You think real estate in CA never gets sold? Of course it does! And when it is, it gets reassessed. In the meantime, the amount due is reasonable and predictable and cannot be increased at the whim of an assessor.

You think SVers pay no taxes? How about 8 3/4% sales tax and up to 9.3% of income in a high income area? You call this nothing? How is it that gov't cannot support itself on that big a slice?

Saying that property taxes are "low" (?) doesn't mean all taxes are.

Do you want to drive ALL business out of the state? What will the bureaucrats live on then? They're not productive citizens, you know.

I mean ZERO in property taxes now while continuing to use services.
Pray tell, how do they do this? I'd like to know. All real property has an assessed valuation and is taxed on that.
