the allies forced hitler to stop invading europe and killing jews. are you saying force is never required to stop charismatic dictators from brainwashing the mindless sheep that _are_ the vast majority of the world's population? until we can legislate that everyone becomes intelligent and able to recognize when a strong-man/dictator is trying to use them for his own purposes, then force and eternal vigilance is needed. one charming guy and a few henchmen can control millions of sheep-like humans, sadly. its something in our genetic makeup that makes us want to follow blindly anyone who tells us that they know all the answers. the percentage of the population who AREN'T sheep is a tiny fraction of 1 percent. and guess who gets targeted by dictators whenever they try and come to power? yep- that fraction of 1 percent. hitler did it, stalin did it, every chinese dictator since the cultural revolution did it. the first act of any dictator is to KILL anyone who might be smart enough to realize what is going on. humanity is nothing more than a giant mass of sheep with a few leaders controlling everything. democracy at least attempts to spread that controlling power outwards. btw- i think bush is a fucking moron, but i don't think his stupidity is an excuse to attack democracy and promote socialist alternatives. fuck, socialism as we know it in western europe could NOT have existed without the FREE military protection given by the united states since WWII. western europe would either be speaking russian right now, or they'd be spending 100% of their gross domestic product on defense. so don't give me that fucking bullshit about how norway or france or the netherlands means socialism can work. bullshit- it only works within the framework of the US paying for their protection. -------- The whole concept of forcing other peoples and other countries to do the right thing just doesn't resonate with me.
