Unfortunately, few people find the time to ponder philosophy. One of the first illusions to fall in such a study, is what we think we know. Most don't know "as much as they think they know". Only a few have even heard of the branch of philosophy that concerns theories of "knowing" – epistemology. Spending a little time with epistemology revels just how difficult “knowing” really is. I agree with the thesis that the real political dichotomy isn’t between liberal and conservative or Democrat and Republican, but rather between those that carefully ferret out the truth from the political BS, and those that accept what they’re fed.

Simply to see something on the Faux News Channel, doesn’t not mean anything is “known” other than their very biased slant. Critically examining multiple sources with differing biases, is obligatory. Completely differing perspectives from foreign (and not all European) sources, are frequently helpful – e.g. I’ve found Indian sources, with their mixture of anti-Islamic and anti-colonialist biases, interesting.

Good luck in your pursuit of knowledge. The reward is in the journey.
