reality is the singular view from the knowledgeable technology insider whose e-mails I have reprised in my "Market Rap" column over the course of the year. Fleckenstein's "knowledgeable technology insider" sounds about as knowlegeable as your average person who posts on SI, fwiw. At least he is describing a scenario with offshore IT development that I know quite well. Doesn't mean things won't pick up though. As far as offshore IT R&D I'm not sure if that is an accelerating phenom at this point, my companies have already offshored most of what they can and that is at least part of the reason the jobs picture in SV is so weak. We have to manage these projects here and use internet meetings to do it. I'm not sure offshoring is going to kill the industry. Lizzie
