Andy - No, I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's untrue: 4-8 weeks is reasonable turn-around time for most amendments. What I 'm saying is that in situations like this an applicant can usually make a strong case for, and be granted, a rapid approval of an amendment request. Of course, the applicant has to be motivated to press the issue, otherwise the application will be thrown into the hopper with all the rest.
