What is the main thrust of this new alliance?

Is Apple trying to break new grounds with SUNW and ORCL alliance?
If so, what immediate new products are there?

If I remember correctly, Apple's main market share are in
Education and Publishing. Will new products help in these
areas or expand their market share in other areas?
