Aug 5 1997 2:35PM CST, Consumer Multimedia Report C-Cube Microsystems, citing continued price erosion for MPEG-1 decoder chips used in VideoCD players in Japan, said 2nd-quarter income plunged 44.6% to $7.7 million as revenues slipped 0.2% to $71.1 million.
