hi Norma class is going well. Regular classes were scheduled to end last week but I decided to extent them another two weeks. Especially for my Wednesday class it is needed. there are seven students and they all want to throw since I only have one wheel it's difficult for them to spend much time and concentrate cuz everyone else wants to do it too. in fact, I've broken the class into two and letting some of them come in this evening as well so we can all get enough ware to fill the kiln and also so everyone is happy :) I think this generosity on my part is going to pay off down the road- like in sept when fall classes start. I know at least three of my students are going to take the class again and I tentatively have four of their children going to take the Saturday classes I'm planning to offer for kids. I'm thinking of making it 8 years and up- instead of the 10 years + I had originally thought. judging by my daughter I think eight might be old enough. so, back to current classes. I was up the studio most the day building shelves and another work table. I ordered my raw materials to mix up more glazes which I will have to get on soon. planning on letting them apply the glazes on 7/22-23 then doing the firing a couple, few days there after. I may try to schedule the firing around the Wed class. even though we'll be finished for the most part those who will be taking the class again in the fall can begin doing stuff also it will give them an opportunity to experience the awesome power behind 560K BTUs/hrr. let's see, I have more stuff to post about the goings on but I want to check out what happened today in the mrkts. sure looks like the weekend's fireworks carried over into today.
