Same here, I don't wish them to die. So many of them are "Bug Chasers" or "Gift Givers" as they like to be called. I can only say that I wish them the happiest of endings!

...Carlos told Freeman that once he becomes HIV infected, he may choose to become a “gift giver.” According to Carlos, “If I know that he’s negative … it sort of gets me off. I’m murdering him in a sense, killing him slowly, and that’s sort of, as sick as it sounds, exciting to me.” (Carlos volunteers each week at the Gay Men’s Health Crisis.)

Freeman says that several major AIDS groups discouraged him from writing his story—including the Stop AIDS Project in San Francisco, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, Gay Men’s Health Crisis, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

Freeman interviewed Dr. Bob Cabaj, a homosexual and director of behavior-health services for San Francisco County about bug chasing. According to Cabaj, bug chasers account for as many as 25% of all new HIV infections. Cabaj also told Freeman that most AIDS are involved in “an active cover-up” of bug chasing. “They’re in denial of this issue. This is a difficult issue that dredges up some images about gay men that they don’t want to have to deal with. They don’t want to shine a light on this topic because they don’t want people to even know that this behavior exists.”
