Getting exciting in Nevada, where the legislature needs, by constitutional provision, to pass tax increases and new taxes by 2/3. They don't have the 2/3, so bureaucratic puppet REPUBLICAN Gov. Kenny Guinn sued the peoples' legislature, asking the court to IMPOSE his tax theft on the people who elected him (Bill Clinton must LOVE this guy). "Friend of Court" briefs are being filed by every slimy bureaucrat interest group in the state. Some of them are a JOKE, with one even claiming that the constitutional provision, passed TWICE by the voters, is "unconstitutional"!

The NSC may wave a judicial hand at the public, and impose the taxes Guinn wants (or they may spike ALL the tax proposals and order him to re-open the appropriations and cut them all).

The punchline? This isn't Sandra Day O'Connor and 5 other ancient scatterbrains-appointed for life-and sanctioning race war over subtle discrimination techniques. These judges are ELECTED. The NSC races are usually quiet and unnoticed, except for an occasional "ethics" brawl which no one but other judges can figure out (Meanwhile, Kenny Guinn is a lame duck, as WELL as a lame brain). If those judges start imposing taxes, however, the races for NSC could get REAL interesteing...
