Thanks! Didn't find much in Dell refurbished notebooks for $600, but plenty of choice over $900. Probably a decent deal at that, but for a few $ more you can configure a new notebook with exact specs. I am flexible on screen choice and processor, but insist on having XP Pro, XP Office, 256 ram minimum, 30gb HD, 802.11 b/g wireless, and CDRW/DVD so I guess I'll pay for what I want. My old IBM Thinkpad gave me 5 years of solid use and still works great, but is becoming too obsolete for my purpose.
