I agree, in principle. One of the problems with these measures is, however, that they are used as political harassment. Protestors invade classrooms with which they disagree politically, and, in all cases I know about, it's right wing protestors doing it, to cause disturbances or harass students to drop the class. If that consequence could be controlled, I agree with this argument. I can't think of any serious reasons, beyond the ones above, to block access to them.
And, there is really no way to keep someone who really wishes to know, to learn. Between public websites, syllabi that get passed to everyone, etc., I don't think it's really possible ot keep others from knowing. |
