Don't know how good I am at spotting political trends early, but I've already christened Dean, as the 2004 wild card. At this juncture, statements about who can beat who, are premature. If Dean can continue to position himself, such that subsequent events verify his positions, while others have to modify theirs, then his popularity will only grow.

Given the front-end loaded nature of the primary season, early victories are crucial. Can Dean survive S. Carolina?
