Arthur C. Clarke found the "glass tubes" on Mars very interesting, have you ever seen them yet?

Back when man first landed on the moon (I remember watching it live), almost everyone thought by now we would have been back and forth to Mars many times already by now... Oh well, at least we can view the surface relatively clearly, and search for signs of water and wonder who built the huge pyramid which is partially collapsed...
