Charleymane,

The alarm bells started going off when I read Thompson's confession.

Not about him being conned. But about Thompson trying to con his readers with this article.

Why? There is a tell-tale of the conman at work. He likes to cover his tracks. Thus Thompson has stated that his intention is to scrub his site of any mention over several years of the purported spy Wilkinson. Someone that he clearly had a relationship with, however bizarre.

A responsible journalist would correct his copy and leave the original work in place. What Thompson is proposing to do is Orwellian. He's attempting to create a revisionist history.

Do you share my opinion that Thompson may be getting squeezed by the Bushies. That he's being intimidated and told that his livelihood is about to be cut off if he refuses to play ball with Bushies? To me that is the most reasonable explanation of his bizarre response to the disappearance of an agent who has betrayed the President with a devastating accusation. Could Wilkinson be wearing concrete booties at the bottom of the L.A. harbor? Stranger things have been known to happen.

What is bizarre is the disappearance of Wilkinson. The only people who would profit by the disappearance are those who are trying to cover up Bush's crimes.
