"What is libertarian"--- it is just a question of emphasis. Most conservatives would not find the Bush Administration similar to that of LBJ, since there are major differences on the military end. For example, we were attacked on our shores, and, right or wrong, deemed Iraq a key element of pacification of the Middle East, unlike in Vietnam, when there was no similar provocation ratcheting up security concerns. Similarly, there is no War on Poverty or Great Society initiative, there is just the attempt to hold onto a governing majority, given the thinness of the hold on the Senate, and the salience of Republican moderates in both houses of Congress. In my experience, libertarians are most inclined to ignore the finer points and paint with so broad a brush........
