And they think that once they get rich, they won't want to be burdened with high taxes to cover welfare costs" True or not, the difference is expectations is one of the reasons we don't have the "class struggle" you have in Europe. The article I posted today over in FA explores this issue at length, and the stats are damning, IMO.
