Who gives a shit what happens to the Iraqis, I certainly don't. The problem is that getting rid of Saddam made our own situation worse. See, for example:

Now we're stuck in an unwinnable guerilla war against a population that hates us deeply. And our administration has painted itself into a corner with its early claims that they went into Iraq with a large enough force.

Over the next six months the neocons will begin talking about how to get enough troops to keep Iraq pacified. Since the only way they can do this is to bring back the draft, the American public will deep six them in 2004.
