. Forget the blame; how the hell do we get out? The only easy way I can think of is sort of the reverse of Senator George Aiken's Viet Nam plan, sometime in the middle of the war;"Declare victory and get out". So, sez eye to mice elf last night (ah, the dangers of the night shift...you should see my typing .Gonna shut down and go to bed)), why don't we say, to the most senior Iraqi official we have in custody "Don't shoot, we surrender, we are going home, and will pay you what you want (in newly printed dollars...don't tell them that), you win". Saves lives, cheaper in the long run, maybe will get us a bit of good will around that part of the wirld which doesn't like us, (not that that matters, he said with his tongue sticking entirely thru his cheek;),especially if we can impeach the entire ( restored honor & integrity) White House (and mayhaps jail them our elves for war crimes committed in our name, and then we can get KennyBoy, too). We have accomplished our stated goals, which were to get rid of SH, less or more, get rid of the WMDs which were going to get Britain in 45 minutes + flight time, and destroy the terrorist bases in the territory held by our staunch allies, the Kurds (if SH didn't control the area, why is he responsible for the bases? Just wondering. If that doesn't get me at least a pinhead award,I am going to give up). Of course, we won't own the oil, Haliburton and Bechtel probably won't get rich, ( that's ok, cuz they weren't going to pay any taxes anyway; that's a small price to pay, and I am willing to sacrifice them), and we won't be able to have bases in Iraq. Then maybe we can go find Waldo Ben Laden.
I wish I had such a quick and dirty fix for the economy.
