I believe that a discussion of pricing and elasticity in the chip industry would be useful and would use some of the ideas in Econ 101 and beyond. Analysis in the security industry goes something like this, "the data indicates that the basic characteristics of the industry have changed during this nuclear winter and we haven't a clue about deciding if the change is temporary or permanent."
