fees paid for the investment advice

You keep saying that this was investment advice. Were these people certified investment advisors? If not, did they represent themselves as such?

You have implied an almost coercive nature to the advice. Such that you are not responsible for initiating the trade. My next question is "did you follow all of the advice given?". If not, you have a major flaw in your argument. If, for example, you did not set protective stops on every single trade, it will show that you were acting of your own free will. You posted chat records that show that every message had the statement "set protective stops". Did you set protective stops on every trade? Did you ever go counter to what was advised?
