Thanks for the Don Guido's link. I'll be ordering a copy. Amazing how a couple of fellows, both nice as can be, got the whole language discussion going as a result of linguistic crossed wires. No hay mal que por bien no viene. I remember the Spanish barbers I used to go to as a child. It seemed that they really didn't speak except in dichos, one saying after the other, making up a pretty good conversation if you knew the code.
