The United States threatened any country that did not go along with the vote with economic sanctions and trade embargoes.

No it didn't. The UN voted to establish Israel.

One reason could have been because the European countries didn't want too many displaced Jews to return to their homes which had been taken by others by then. And the Arab countries got a place to push their Jewish population out to so they could confiscate the property left behind.


Were any papers signed by ANY Arab country to agree to a partition on Philistinia?
