Thanks, Rascal. I knew you would admit it. On a Presidential speech, every comma gets vetted. Frum's book on his tour as a Speechwriter for Bush goes over this in detail-he was the "Axis of Evil" writer. Tenet meets with Bush daily for briefings when Bush is at the WH, and would personally have passed on this statement in Bush's speech.

Will Tenet get fired? Naah. Bush likes him too much personally. Will the public be outraged? Naah. They know that Bush was speaking what his Intel was reporting. The public also knows that the Admin was pushing the edge of the envelope on WMD. But they are with Bush on liberating Iraq.

The people who are going to end up with a "Black eye" out of this are the Dems who are screaming "Bush Lied!" The public knows better.
