The upside of Bush's personality of single minded focus is that he is relentless when he takes a stand. He does not let himself be swayed by the 'cause of the week', and lose focus on his main direction. The downsides are 1) he has a tendency to only focus on one thing at a time (the war on terrorism), and 2) he comes off as extremely arrogent. He fails to see the need to explain or justify his position, and he comes up with these arbitrary and arrogant edicts like "the matter is closed". Oh, boy, I'll bet he wishes it were that easy, but after all, this is a democracy.
