<we'll now call you a liar whenever such information proves to be false.>

I'm a private citizen. What I say has little impact. What the President says, especially what he says in the State Of The Union address, should be held to a higher standard. Much higher. The government has vast resources at its disposal; we spend $20B/y on "Intelligence".

It's not unreasonable to hold the President responsible for the accuracy of what he says, especially if the results of those words get a lot of people killed. There should be no excuses. It's dishonorable to try and shift responsibility away from the Chief Executive, and try and make his subordinates (the CIA) or his allies (the British) take the blame.

"I made the decision. I'm accountable. The buck stops with me"- Janet Reno, after 76 people, including 25 children, were burned to death at Waco in a botched assault she ordered

Haven't heard Bush say anything like that.
