Humpback Hitchhiker
Yes, I enjoyed the flick. I've seen Maori, coping with the modern world, movies before, but never one centered on Maori myths. What wasn't to like? I even enjoyed the Looney Tunes Mountain Dew commercial at the beginning. And the previews. These days with "targeted marketing", the previews you see are based on the feature you paid to see. After all, a multiplex can’t show you previews of all of the movies that are coming to the ‘plex. Since ‘Rider was a foreign flick, I got to see the previews of three foreign flicks. Near as I could tell, the three preview flicks and ‘Rider had only one attribute in common. They were all foreign. My area is sufficiently small in population, that foreign flicks have to have “something going for them”, to get here. These were all prizewinners with intriguing trailers.
When early in the movie, the camera (adopting the pov of the narrator/protagonist) peered out of a plastic hospital baby basket, at the world outside, from an infants perspective, I said interesting and relaxed. Thanks for the recommendation.
I have to remember to tell Clappy what my daughter said - although T2 may have been better than T1, that trend was broken with T3. She described something that sounded pretentious (little too self conscious). I may delay, until I get further reviews.
Hmm...Do I want to see that Pirate movie?
